Summer school will take place in the first week of September (Monday 4 afternoon – Thursday 7 September) in a hybrid form (in person in Rijeka, Croatia - Faculty of Law (Hahlic 6) & online via Zoom).
On the first day, Monday 4 September 2023, a half-day conference on EU sports law, politics and diplomacy will also be organised, which is of course free of charge for all Summer School participants and will also take place in a hybrid format.
The Summer School is completely free of charge, and participants can claim 4 ECTS credits when completing the programme. The participants will need to attend the whole summer school with eight lessons (exceptionally, missing one lesson can be accepted upon special approval) and for each lesson give the answers on questions raised by the respective speakers in a form which should be sent to the Organisers a few days after the lesson.
Speakers include high calibre academics: Richard Parrish (Edge Hill University, UK and Sport&EU Honorary Chair), Jurgen Mittag with Maximillian Seltmann & Lorenz Fiege (Cologne Sport University, Germany), Borja García García (Loughborough University, UK & Sport&EU Executive Director), Stuart Murray (Bond University, Australia), Simon Rofe (University of Leeds, UK), Andrea Cattaneo (Edge Hill University, UK) and two other special guests whose participation is to be confirmed.
